When Hello Kitty Man met the Chicks with the Freshest Kicks

One month after the USA release of the MAC x Hello Kitty range, it finally arrives to the UK with all its dark, HK S&M style glory. The hype in the US over this collection has very much died down, and it is now time for the UK ladies to get excited! Better late than never eh? Just as we get this collection, the US are preparing for the MAC x Hello Kitty COUTURE range which is soon to be released this month. No doubt, us Londoners, won't see this until next month!

Unlike many more sensible minded 3rd year university chicks, who are prioritizing their academic studies over their personal blogs and make up events, me and my friends decided to check out HK x MAC launch and of course make a day of it. Yes, we should be studying and what-not, but it is all about the balance in life. We, as the next generation of journalists, need to be able to master the art of JUGGLING. Not in the circus act sense, but more in juggling the everyday going on of life. We can't just prioritise one thing (no matter how major..eek)! We have to learn to do it all, and do it all well! That is what I like to tell myself anyway, whether I believe it as much as I want too...well that's another area I would rather not face just yet. I am in my final year of University, interning for M.I.S.S. , writing this blog and also working on the weekend to provide my shopping funds. And I think I am handling it well...we will just have to see which BA Honors I graduate with...I am not looking forward to it...!

Anyway, back to the event. My friend's Kara of Hood and Proper blog, MiSs RiNNiE ♥ of The Sweet and Colourful World blog, my sister and I all went to Selfridges in London to check out the HK MAC launch, a little late in the afternoon (almost 5pm!). As soon as I stepped on to the Bond Street platform, I saw a girl with the Hello Kitty balloon and I literally ran up the escalator and headed straight for Selfridges - I needed this balloon if nothing else! As we go there so late there was only ONE balloon left, which I kept! hahah!

I had already seen all the HK MAC goodies when I was out in New York. As I could not afford anything whilst I was there, I thought I would wait till the range drops in London to buy some bits. Big Mistake. It was so expensive! All I really wanted was the HK head brush pot and that was £40! Yes, £40! What did I really expect?! It is MAC and it is Hello Kitty. So they can get away with charging that much! I am not really one to buy something just because I know everyone else will want it. That is just stupid, forking all that money out for something you don't really and truly like! We all left empty handed, bar my balloon. But I am glad we went, even just to see the much talked about Hello Kitty man haha! I read so much about these guys and it was still weird seeing them in the flesh! Here are some of the pictures!

Poor HK guy! He got shouted at by the MAC lady for "not keeping his eyes on the Balloons." What a meanie! As if his job wasn't hard enough!

We decided to go giant toy store Hamley's after, which was much fun! Check our kicks!


MiSs RiNNiE ♥ and her suade Nike Blazers with the Hello Kitty display in Hamley's. Yes her hair is that shade of pink, and no it is not a wig!


We went to a really nice burger/BBQ smoke house diner called Bodean's in Soho for dinner! Try this place; its quite cheap, good atmosphere and good filling greasy food!
