This is what the title of this post is based on:
It is one of those shops on every high street; including Oxford Street, that sells cheap, tacky, and down right nasty clothes. I haven't been in one of these since I was like 13/14, when everything from these types of stores were made of horrid Lycra and extremely fashionable for my age group....[sending shivers down my spine]. Well I broke that streak today when I saw a lovely colourful floral print! As I approached the store with caution for a closer inspection, acting as if I was merely walking towards that side of the pavement, I spotted this lovely print was on a rail labelled "£1". I was like "Wwwhhhaaaa What! How!". I gave a quick once over behind my shoulders and shot into Femme Connection (HA!). I was a bit disappointed when I saw the lovely print was actually made into a horrendous shirt. I picked it up anyway, just to see if there was a way I could work with it but soon realised it was not to be. After a quick rifle on the rail, I noticed another item with the same print! Alas, it was a skirt!! A high waisted one too! You would not have believed my excitement...the shop assistance must have been thinking "look there at the mad girl, finally we have found a fool who will rid of that old lady crap from the wonderful femme connection." As soon as my excitement was at an almighty high (I piked up two more for my friends: a bargain at £1!), it went straight back down. This wonderful 'skirt', was actually a pair of SHORTS when I tried them on!! I bought them anyway, shorts can easily be turned into skirts, and £1 is no biggie. I also found this loose-style (well that might not be the style, but hell, thats what it looks like on me!) summer dress for £1, teamed it with my Asos belt below and I think it looks pretty darn good!
This is the one time my '£1 shopping frenzy' has gone right. A few years back me and a friend was on the bus and spotted a saw a guy selling cropped trousers on the street corner for £1. You wouldn't believe how fast we got of the bus to snap up these bargains, but boy were we wrong when we got home and tried it on. Till this day we still get ridiculed by Stephie once in a while, and yeah, bad shopping times...do not know what possessed me...! Oohhh and I got this velvet and gold sequin shrug type thing for £3.....!
